Classic or maybe just boring.

I wanted to wear my black jeans but they're dirty. Not sure how impressed I am with the UES Miranda Miranda look, but whatever.

Ahh 70 degrees isn't exactly Autumn

I'm thinking this purple, deep pink color works on me...maybe it's the SUPER DARK tan I still have from Mexico.
Too tired to put my flats back on - just got home from Montclair for my step dads bday. I'm sleepy.
p.s. happy birthday Courtney.

Autumn has indeed arrived.

My new (new to me) vintage camel blazer. weeeeee
Fall is in the air. Time to switch over to my plain jane second hand gucci compact bag. My beloved tan leather bag that I wear EVERYDAY came from some German online thrift store that I can not remember for the life of me. Such the ongoing frustration.

And the almost 90 degree heat continues.

Flip flops like my parents from the 80's - perfectly cushy for long walks in nyc.

Grab your Neon Bible!

Saturday Arcade Fire told us that they wouldn't be back in the states for at least 2 years. Bad news all the way and kinda ironic since Ariel is off to Oregon then San Diego on Monday. She only has a 1 way ticket, so on Saturday I said good bye to a few of my favorites.

btw. my black fake keds from Japan got pretty dirty, but it was worth it.

Vests.

These pics blow. But I love the 60's cream vest that I thrifted 2 weeks ago, it has great gold buttons. I really sacrificed my body temperature by wearing knee length moccasin boots (slouched down real low). Why o why is it still 85 degrees I ask. Plan on wearing this ensemble within the month and will take an accurate picture.

It's scary that I own a vintage sweater vest that could very well belong in Ugly Betty's wardrobe.

p.s. My Tokyo 7 money came in CHACHINGG and I'm going shopping. I want new jeans and black heels. I HATE wearing black shoes except for my ugly tall police boots but I need an actual black shoe (not a flat & not a boot) to wear with tights.

Peeling like crazy. Gonna miss my tan.

wore this today, open like a jacket with like 2 sheer long white tank tops (white to show my tan off of course) and gray jeans. I love it when you get compliments on something that you've owned FOREVER.

The Locals Call it Playa

Mexico was terrific, been missin it since I left :(
Not too many wardrobe changes to post because it's so hot there that the entire time I was either in my bathing suit or bohemian moo moo type dresses that I've collected over the years. I think I only really had clothes on at the airport.

Why are airports always so cold?

Lizards galore but I'll take them any day over the killer mosquitoes that ATE ME ALIVE.

Not a big beer drinker but when in Rome...

I wonder how much weight I gained there...I ate 3 times a day and loved every single bite.

The pool at my hotel was amazing and I don't use the word amazing loosely. I wanna go back bad.

beach bum all the way. Any original plans I had for the trip were lost after my first dip in the Mamitas.

Closet - yikes!

Digging into eternity (aka my closet) for my suitcase for Mexico. Ended up sorting thru a few foreign items I forgot I even owned. 1 Sell bag down and 1 to go. Thanks for the late afternoon cocktails RD! I've been drunk cleaning ever since. Awesome.

OMG - almost forgot. I'm wearing the dredded old granny uglies that I blogged about on Friday and I LOVE THEM. Can't wait to get my next not so UGLY pair.

Weekend Hustle

Uggh. I can't believe I was back out selling and trading my clothes again all in hopes to get some cash for new Fall lovelies. Today I picked up a pair of low heeled tan oxfords that seem to be ridiculously comfy. I don't remember the name of the shop but I will be a regular. Adorable gay boys working the counter and comfy cute shoes. I'm addicted.

Uglies

Last month I spent way too much money on what I thought were the perfect pair of Frye sandals. Of course they pinch my flinstone toes and of course I wore them outside so I can't return. And the shoe repair guy says no to stretching. Long story short I'm stuck with them until they're in season and even then I can only try to sell them to Tokyo 7. sucks. So onto the "Uglies". David, the old shoe man tricked me into trying on a pair of those German old lady sandals. Of course they felt like heaven and I bought on the spot. I chose the ugliest pair, not sure why but it felt right. I will be getting another pair (a not so ugly version). Suppose to be hot all weekend so a pic is on it's way.

BTW the vest is one of the pieces I got from the stylist guy in Harlem. It has thin white stripes and a pocket inside so cute grandpa.

My Lucky Day

Randomly, Berka took us to his friends apartment in Harlem today. His friend (Nick the stylist) is moving to LA and was purging his vintage frocks and shoes that he saved from photo shoots etc...
I scored a few "Joan Clayton" pieces. My Tokyo Police Club bag was stuffed. So glad we went, Court. Hate that I didn't take a picture of him and all the goodies we left behind. O well.
p.s. this is one of my favorite vintage shirts. It has teany white bows on it.
p.s.s with jeans the vintage oxfords don't look like boats so they shall be loved!

My Uniform

After work I headed downtown with Joe in search of a navy sweater vest. He wanted a hoodie and jeans for his trip to France and I wanted the sweater vest because one, I'm a nerd and two, I'll have an excuse to hold on to my too tight, need to give up button down shirts that can nicely fit under (Ahaaa!) He scored yet another button down from Supreme, a nice addition to what I call his "private school shirt collection". Hello I spent way too many years in private school to not know a uniform when I see it. Anyway, neither of us had too much luck with our goal items of the day so we parted ways.

On my walk home I stopped into the new Forever 21 on Broadway. I know, I know, it's totally off limits but I heard from a secret teenaged spy that they have colored jeans so I thought I'd check them out. My eyes went straight for the navy stretch skinny jeans. Hate to say it but they were perfect, unfortunelty I kinda looked out of control in them so I had to pass up.

Here's a pic of me in My Uniform (photographed Susie Bubbles Style)

laundry

Saw Julia Styles as I was doing laundry. She wasn't doing her laundry but she walked past. She looked cute. long fluffy ponytail and fitted plaid shirt. Wish I could still fit my button down shirts. Ewww boobs

Speaking of FASHIONABLE celeb sightings, the best of Summer '07 are as follows: chloe s (great high waisted shorts) on 1st ave and parker posey (jeans n cute blousy shirt- I'm always envious of a perfectly blousy shirt on someone) she was strolling thru tompkins square park. And I think I saw Joan aka Tracee Ellis Ross in Soho but that may have been a lovely dream instead of reality.

I'm baacckk

It's 63 degress outside right now! Whawhoo! Def was warmer this afternoon in the sun but there was an amzing Indian Summer kinda breeze. Love it.
I need Fall clothes and I should be shopping but I actually spent the day selling a lot of my clothes to thrift shops in Brooklyn with Courtney and Ib. So anyway - the post. Baggy sweatshirt dress and tights: the perfect no-brainer. I actually wanted to wear vintage brown oxfords I bought over the summer (they look great with tights) but the fit is sadly less than perfection. They may end up in my sell bag.

July was my birthday month

Happy Birthday to me.
Thanks for the amazing flowers Rah (and not James)

February '07 looks

Editing my lovely Canon PowerShot camera and found a few pictures meant for my fashion diary. Better late than never.

I have too many pink scarves like this. Completely against my "downsize and only keep one of your favorites" goal.

Got this revitalized vintage shirt from Suzette Sundays YEARS ago.

Can't remember where I got this shirt...Hmm... no clue but I love it

Uniqlo men's section - yumm.

Found this 2nd hand sweatshirt for the boy, but I couldn't stop wearing it long enough to give it away...

can't live without cardigans

Cause I'm fat and I eat rice.

This summer has been awful. Cuz I'm fat. I've just been wearing variations of my fall/winter clothes. So no summer pics! Ewww Be back after I loose 5 lbs.

Brady Bunch Bathroom carpet

I feel a way about the pattern of my cardi. I don't really like the 70's rug look but I owned a shirt like this (but with a gray/maroon color scheme) in college and wore it all the time. So it's like no matter how much I think I don't like the old rug look I guess I actually do. So anyway this is my new vintage cardigan and I think it's a keeper.

One of my many Holly Hobby looks...

Ugh. This picture is so dark - please note black long-sleeve tee, cream ruffle shirt, gray skinnys and vintage tan leather fold over boots.
