Holidays

How was your christmas?
only my mom would have happy hanukkah ornate on her christmas tree.
I got a load of gifts which i will show you soon but here is one gift that i'd like to introduce to you right now.
meet emma.
i finally have a pound puppy of my own.
christmas was packed with a lot of animals.
even black cats. did i ever tell you about poncho? the neighborhood cat that my parents and sister fed and named? well anyway. this is sue's cat (next door neighbor) not poncho :( can you see her eyes?
ended the weekend with vintage shopping:: i went shopping with ariel and martin and i brought back a potato sack (seriously) of stuff. i also brought back a major cold which is why the photos are limited and my new thrifty treasures are still in the potato sack. my cold makes me sleep like 17 hours a day. sucks.
i'm pretty much done with my christmas shopping. last week i made the bad mistake of going to rockefeller center. way too many tourists but i needed to go to that specific anthropologie for something. just tried to remember that its the holiday season so it would be extra wrong if i shoved someone standing in the middle of the street as i dodge oncoming traffic and pushing someone for bumping me so hard that i almost fall is wrong too. never again.
now onto my normal closet blog entry...i found a pair of vintage oxford boots and have been wearing all month. i like that they are brown (don't have boring brown) and i love that they are higher than your average ankle grannie boots but i'm not into the fact that they aren't leather (label reads leather upper but i don't even know what that means really). i'm all about supporting vegan items being the animal lover that i am but man-made material in the winter? um even with 2 pairs of socks my toes were icicles. won't be mine for long!

and i don't even have to wait for replacements - i just got these barely worn whiskey brown vintage oxford ankle boots this week. now i can finally put my boarding school boy shoe/boot obsession to rest...although black oxford grannies would be nice. guess i'm still on the search.

Long weekend at home:::

marigolds live by the front door in the sun for now
my contribution to thanksgiving (i sliced)

mom's new bead project... she is taking classes and making bracelets and necklaces
scout turned 2 this november. he is a full grown boy now.
but he can still scrunch into a pretzel to nap.
my reconstructed red dress/tunic. it's a staple.
i still suffer from mk syndrome every now and then. found this dress at a thrift shop over the summer and it's huge. but i'm so in love with the print that i can't seem to let it go.
